Levell Langley, Mayor of Red Oak
Welcome to Red Oak, a family oriented community full of small town charm and values. On any given day you’ll find Ennis Park full of locals enjoying leisure and organized sports. Our town has a long history of supporting a youth basketball league that encourages team work, physical fitness and family participation. Our schools and churches are strong community supporters with caring and compassionate staff.
Red Oak remains a predominantly rural, agricultural area that is home to many family owned and operated farms. The crops in this area range from the traditional tobacco, cotton and corn to soybeans, sweet potatoes, strawberries, peanuts and pumpkins. In recent years several horse and goat farms have been established in the area along with the recent establishment of an emu farm. A highlight in the fall is visiting Fisher Pumpkin Farm where local farmer, Linda Fisher encourages you to carve a pumpkin and get to know some farm animals up close and personal.
When you come to Red Oak make sure to visit one of our local grills for a delicious treat. You can order a specialty hand tossed pizza at Angelo’s in the historic Red Oak Café, a Pizza Burger at Griffin’s and top it all off with a hand dipped ice cream cone at Faulkner’s.
When you come for a visit you just might decide to stay!
