Scott Briley Bio

Town Councilman
He currently serves as Deacon and is on the Safety Response Team. Scott served 23 years with the Red Oak Fire Department until his retirement in May 2018. Scott’s desire was to be more involved in the community, so he began attending Town Council meetings for knowledge basis and to see where he could assist the wonderful Town of Red Oak. He was appointed to the Planning Board in 2017. He served in this capacity until his election to the Town Council seat beginning 2020.
Scott Briley was born in Edgecombe County and moved to the West Mount area of Nash County when he was 4 years old. Scott moved to the Town of Dortches where he and his wife resided from May 1990 until their move to the Town of Red Oak in October 2001. Scott is married to Melissa and has two daughters, Catherine and Elizabeth. Scott Briley was elected to serve in 2019
